The sixth edition of the Forum of Romanian Youth Everywhere takes place from 23 to 28 October 2026 in Bucharest. More than 150 young people from Romania and the diaspora spend six days working on concrete solutions to the problems that affect them.
Applications for the 2026 edition are closed. Thank you to everyone who applied.
Who we are
The Forum started in 2021 as an initiative of four national youth organisations: the Union of Students in Romania, the Federation of Medical Students' Associations in Romania, the League of Romanian Students Abroad and UN Youth Romania. They set out to mark 150 years since the 1871 Congress of Romanian Students Everywhere at Putna, with a forum modelled on that historic congress.
Until 2025 the project was called the Forum of Romanian Students Everywhere (FSRP) and was aimed at students in Romania and abroad. Since its first edition it has brought together more than 600 young people.
What changes in 2026
This is the biggest change of format in the project's history. For the first time the Forum is open to all young people, whether they are students, employees or entrepreneurs. Simulating the work of government institutions gives way to direct collaboration with civil society, business and non-governmental organisations, so that young people's proposals can be developed and supported after the event.
Programme
- 23 October
Official opening
Opening ceremony and conference in the Unirii Hall of Cotroceni Palace, on how a proposal for legislative change travels from idea to implementation.
- 24-26 October
Training and teamwork
Training in public policy and advocacy, then teamwork with facilitators on proposals covering education, the labour market, justice and relations with the diaspora.
- 27 October
Reviewing the proposals
Public policy experts review the proposals, and participants refine them with the feedback and prepare for the final presentation.
- 28 October
Final presentation
Participants present their proposals to representatives of civil society and business, who may choose to support their implementation.
Why it matters
- It creates a unique space for dialogue between young people, civil society, business and public institutions.
- It turns participants' ideas into workable proposals for social change.
- It helps train the next generations of civic leaders in Romania.
- It values the expertise and civic responsibility of young Romanians at home and abroad.
“For five editions the forum was built around students. This year we chose to open it to all young people, because problems do not stop at the university gates, and neither do solutions.”Cristian-Alexandru Ghiurcă, President of the Youth Forum of Romania federation and FTRP project manager
Partners over the years
Every edition has been built with major state institutions. The Department for Sustainable Development granted its patronage to several editions, the Chamber of Deputies hosted the Forum as partner of honour, and the National Council of Rectors helped reach universities. The Forum has also been supported by the Presidential Administration, the Government of Romania and several ministries, together with UNESCO and the University of Bucharest. Its results were presented in the Romania Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.
The 2026 edition is organised by the Youth Forum of Romania federation, the League of Romanian Students Abroad and the Union of Students in Romania, as part of the project “Far from home, close to Romania”, funded by the Department for Romanians Abroad. Read the opening press release.
